Hello Friends!
Happy Tuesday and Thanksgiving-eve-eve. Thanksgiving can be an overwhelming holiday for those struggling with their nutrition. This month, I’m happy to share some recovery nuggies that might be universal to everyone needs this week!
It is normal to feel “disgust” when you overeat. That is your digestive systems way of encouraging you to stop eating food. Be careful not to misinterpret this physiological message as you “feeling disgusting” or “being disgusting”.
Thanksgiving is a day just like every other day. You can eat just like you normally do and will likely feel a lot better for doing so.
You do not have to overextend yourself or compromise your recovery to host the “perfect” holiday. Let other people make the holiday what they want it to be.
Often when people make comments that you are eating, it’s simply because they want your food but can’t give themselves permission to eat too.
Do you remember a time in which someone feeding themselves gave you permission to eat too? Bring a large appetizer to Thanksgiving and eat when you want to. Does anyone else reach for the food?
Food is fuel for the FUTURE, not for the PAST.
You need to fall to learn how to fly.
